As Picasso says “every painting is a sum of destructions the artist builds and demolishes in the same instant”.
Erasure is simple not a matter of making things disappear, you are always left with some form of traces which have been left and scattered. It could simply be a mark on a piece of paper being erased by the end of a pencil rubber leaving bruising to the surface, being slightly removed reveals a sense of remembrance and memory. Whether it has been erased, crossed out or scribbled, the mistake has a habit of appearing in the background leaving a ghostlike outline behind the new mark.
While being home over christmas I came across an old suitcase which was owned by my grandpa it was full of old written letters, postcards, old photographs of loved ones and beautiful lace. After looking at these treasures which I had found I began to work up collages of fabrics involving selected parts of printed letters and imagery which gave me fresh and personal pieces.

These designs are previous work which I based on my grandpa as he was such a huge part of my life, looking at his personal memories and journeys throughout his life.

Project 2: Town or Country
My project was based on my journey from home to an exquisite village called Badger. On my journey I also stopped at my nan's concentrating on the lake and the beautiful views behind and also at a country house just down the road from Badger. This was a great experience to get really close to the magnificent landscape , natural life and the detailed architecture of the buildings.
